DURHAM – Behind strong pitching and a combined 34 runs in two games, No. 10 Duke (32-14) returned to action on Sunday sweeping Longwood (20-26) with two run-rule victories at Jack Coombs Field. The Blue Devils opened up the afternoon with a 20-run victory in seven innings, downing the lancers 23-3, before run-ruling the night cap, 11-1, to complete the two-game sweep.
In game one, freshman AJ Gracia opened the scoring by crushing a three-run home run to left field, tying the freshman home run record set by Andrew Fischer in 2023 with his 11th big fly of the season.
