DURHAM, N.C. – The 10th-ranked Duke women's tennis team defeated Furman (5-2) Sunday afternoon in the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center. With the victory, the Blue Devils improve to 3-1 as the Paladins dip to 1-4.
"Furman is sneaky good," head coach Jamie Ashworth said. "I told the girls even before we hit in our warmup that we had to be emotionally ready to play. It was a tough week after last weekend, but we have to move forward. We had to make sure we came out ready to play and for the most part, we did that.
