DURHAM, N.C. – Nine Blue Devils received invitations to take part in the 2017 Young Women's National Championship, as announced by USA Field Hockey over the weekend. Duke's nine selections to the Young Women's National Championship were the most of any collegiate institution.
The event is slated for June 12-16 at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Lancaster, Pa., and will serve as a selection opportunity for the 2017-18 U.S. U21 women's national team, U.S. women's national development squad and the U.S. women's national team.
The Blue Devils' selections to the Young Women's National Championship include rising juniors Morgan Bitting, Christy Palazzese and Erin Scherrer, rising redshirt sophomore Sammi Steele and rising sophomores Kirby Comizio, Haley Schleicher and Jillian Wolgemuth.
