DURHAM, N.C. – The 2016 NFL preseason game schedule begins Thursday with six contests. Duke will be represented in the preseason by 19 alums, including 10 rookies who wrapped up their time as Blue Devils with the 2015 New Era Pinstripe Bowl victory against Indiana.
The longest tenured NFL Blue Devils are Thaddeus Lewis and Vincent Rey, who both enter their seventh seasons. Of the 19 in the league, all played for head coach David Cutcliffe at some point of their Duke careers.
Two of Thursday’s contests feature Duke versus Duke matchups as Jamison Crowder and Takoby Cofield of the Washington Redskins travel to Sean Renfree’s Atlanta Falcons while Jeremy Cash and Braxton Deaver’s Carolina Panthers play travel to Matt Skura of the Baltimore Ravens.
