State’s recruiting took a major hit this weekend as Jalen Lecque, who was to be State’s point guard of the future if only for a year, opted instead to put his name in the NBA Draft.
He can do it because he’s 19 and spent a year at Brewster Academy.
That doesn’t mean it’s going to work out.
First, even though it’s not a great draft this year an astonishing number of players have already put their names in.
He’s currently seen as a second-round pick at best and here’s a general truth about guys who have entered the draft without playing in college: very few of them are guards.
