DURHAM – Duke head football coach Manny Diaz announced Saturday that quarterback Maalik Murphy has signed a financial aid agreement to attend the institution and join the Blue Devil gridiron program.
Murphy will enroll at Duke in this month after spending two seasons at the University of Texas. He played in seven career games, making two starts, and finished 40-of-71 (.563) passing for 477 yards with three touchdowns against three interceptions during his Longhorn tenure. Additionally, he registered five passes of 20-plus yards, including a career-high 47-yard pass and 37-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Adonai Mitchell against Kansas State in 2023.
