Multiple Draft Picks From ACC Programs

Having a number of NBA-caliber players on your team doesn’t assure collegiate success. But their presence certainly helps, especially when healthy.

Last season the ACC exhibited a rare sweep and depth of pro-quality talent, exhibited by the prominence of league products selected in the June 2019 draft.

Six teams were represented by a total of 13 players in the draft – Duke (3), Virginia (3), UNC (3), Florida State (2), Virginia Tech and Miami. (The Hurricanes supplied 6-11 Dewan Hernandez, sidelined all season by a capricious NCAA ruling related to hearsay regarding a sneaker-company bribe.) The total ACC yield was second only to 14 players and nine schools participating in 2017.
