Muhammad Ali was a transcendent figure in almost every way. There is no replacing him and no way to put him in context any time soon.

Marvin Hagler once said that boxing is the sport to which all other sports aspire. It has suffered in recent decades, primarily from three things: first, the toll that it takes on fighters, second, the corruption of the sport and third the lack of great stars.
