DURHAM, N.C. – Following a two-goal performance against No. 10 Liberty that included the game winner in overtime, junior forward Heather Morris has been named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week. Morris is the fifth Blue Devil to garner weekly recognition from the ACC this season.
Morris recorded the first score of Saturday’s regular season finale in Lynchburg on Duke’s third penalty corner opportunity, putting away a shot on an Aileen Johnson assist. After the Flames knotted the score at 2-2 late in the second half to force overtime, Morris took a ball down the middle of the field and beat Liberty goalkeeper Mallory Cuccio to seal the 3-2 victory for the Blue Devils in the 73rd minute.
