When he was at NC State, Monte Towe was a remarkable player. First he was just 5-7. Second he was a superb passing point guard. Third, he shot free throws as soon as the ref handed him the ball - no dribbling or preparing. Up! And fourth, he only lost seven games his career and just one in his first two seasons (freshmen were ineligible then).
He’s had a long and interesting career in the game and today he’s a prep coach in Gainesville. Barry Jacobs has a really interesting update on State’s greatest point guard ever.
