As we said recently, several ACC coaches are likely to either retire or be let go due to either age or poor performance. Looks like the first domino is about to fall as former Duke assistant and current Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey has decided to retire, according to the South Bend Tribune, he’s going to tell his team today.
Like a lot of coaches, Brey has had a tough time since the pandemic and the tremendous instability brought about by NIL and the transfer portal have made coaching that much more difficult. But he had a great run at Notre Dame and has always coached with integrity and humility.
