DURHAM – Duke men's soccer freshmen Ruben Mesalles and Shakur Mohammed have been named to TopDrawerSoccer's Midseason Top-100 freshman list, as the organization announced on Wednesday.
Mesalles was ranked as the nation's fourth-ranked freshman, checking in as the top defensive freshman in the country. Mohammed was tabbed the No. 29 freshman in the nation and the ninth-highest ranked forward.
Splitting time between left back and in the midfield, Mesalles has played a big role in all facets of the game. The Longboat, Fla., native has one goal and three assists for five points, scoring the winning goal against Michigan on Sept.
