DURHAM, N.C. – After posting a tremendous season in his summer league, Duke junior infielder and right-handed pitcher Matt Mervis capped the summer campaign by being named to the 2019 Cape Cod Baseball League All-League Team, announced by the league recently.
Mervis, a member of the Cotuit Kettlers across the summer campaign, was recognized as utility player in his all-league distinction, after splitting time on the mound and in the field this summer. The Potomac, Md., native was selected as an All-Star in the CCBL at the midway point.
The rising senior helped lead the Kettlers to the 2019 Cape Cod League championship along with Duke teammate Joey Loperfido, marking the team's 17th championship in franchise history.
