DURHAM, N.C. – Duke sophomore Ezra Mellinger has been named the ACC Men's Field Co-Performer of the Week after posting a first-place distance in the long jump at the Orange and Purple Elite Meet in Clemson, S.C., on Saturday.
In his first event of the indoor season, Mellinger recorded a personal-best distance of 7.27 meters (23-10.25 feet), which currently stands as the fifth-best in the nation and first in the ACC. The Ronks, Pa., native broke his previous best mark of 7.18m that he set as a freshman, and he maintains the fourth-best long jump in Duke indoor history.
