They don’t call it that and there’s no specific stat that they quote, but countless times after games, I’ve heard coaches praise players who scored a lot of points on a few shots … and I’ve also heard coaches dismiss a high-scoring player who had to take a high volume of shots to get his points.
Earlier this season in Madison Square Garden, Duke’s Grayson Allen came off the bench against VCU and scored 30 points – while taking just 15 shots from the field.
