DURHAM – Duke sophomore Alaina McVeigh has been named the ACC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week for her performances in a 2-0 weekend for the now ninth-ranked Blue Devils. This is McVeigh's first career weekly honor.
After missing her rookie season to injury, McVeigh has been an incredible spark to Duke's offense this season. The native of Landsdale, Pa., has scored in every game and was instrumental in the Blue Devils' victories over Longwood and No. 9 Liberty last weekend.
In Friday night's game against Longwood, McVeigh notched two goals and an assist as Duke rolled to a 9-0 win.
