BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Duke men's basketball added to its NBA Draft history on Wednesday night at Barclays Center as freshman Jared McCain was selected in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 16th overall pick.
The Blue Devils have boasted at least one first-round selection in 13 of the last 14 drafts. With McCain's selection, Duke extended its streak of at least one freshman drafted to 11 consecutive years.
Wednesday night was also notable for second-year head coach Jon Scheyer, who now has three first-round draft picks as the Blue Devils' head mentor.
