GRENOBLE, France – Duke women’s tennis freshman Maria Mateas and fellow American collegians closed out the Master’U BNP Paribas Collegiate Tournament in Grenoble, France, in style with Team USA’s eighth gold medal since the event began in 2008.
"This was the greatest and most fun experience of my entire life," Mateas said. "I love this team and the coaches. Being able to represent the USA is a dream come true!"
This year’s hardware joins the titles won in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.
In a rematch between last year’s champions, Great Britain, the United States dominated on the court to secure the crown.
