DURHAM, N.C. – Duke sophomore Marques Bolden is one of 20 candidates on the preseason list for the 2018 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award, an honor presented annually to the top center in the nation by the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame.
Bolden, a 6-11, 246-pound sophomore from DeSoto, Texas, battled through injuries a season ago to play in 24 games as the Blue Devils went 28-9 and captured the ACC Tournament championship.
Named after Hall of Famer and three-time NCAA Champion Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the annual honor in its fourth year recognizes the top centers in men’s college basketball.
