DURHAM, N.C. -- Two members of the Duke women’s tennis team, senior Alyssa Smith and redshirt sophomore Christina Makarova, head to Winston-Salem, N.C., this weekend for the Wake Forest Invitational. The three-day event begins with the first two rounds of doubles Friday at 9 a.m.
Twelve teams will send representatives to Winston-Salem over the weekend. Singles contests are scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. Friday, following the conclusion of the first two doubles matches. The final round of doubles play is slated for 9 a.m. Saturday.
Smith opened her 2016 fall campaign by amassing a doubles record of 2-1 while competing alongside senior Chalena Scholl at the Duke Bonk Invite.
