DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University sophomore Leona Maguire carded a final round of three-under-par, 68, on her way to placing tied 34th overall at the Evian Championship, which was played at the Evian Resort Golf Club in France.
Maguire, a native of Cavan, Ireland, became the first women’s golfer from the Republic of Ireland to make the cut at a major championship.
Over the four days, Maguire posted rounds of 72, 73, 73 and 68 for a two-over-par, 286. Maguire registered five birdies in Sunday’s final round, including three over her final seven holes to move up the leaderboard.
