TOKYO – With four birdies over her first eight holes of the third round in Tokyo, Duke University graduate Leona Maguire moved into contention at the Kasumigaseki Country Club in Kawagoe, Saitama, Japan.
Unfortunately, Maguire suffered a triple-bogey on hole No. 9 and played her final nine holes at even par on her way to finishing with a 1-under, 70. The Ireland product holds a 5-under, 208, and is tied for 18th with one round remaining.
Fellow Duke graduate Celine Boutier of France turned in a 72 in the third round and is tied for 409th with an even-par, 213.
