RIVIERA MAYA, Mexico – In a spectacular finish Saturday in Rivera Maya, Mexico, Duke University junior Leona Maguire helped lead Ireland to a bronze medal at the World Amateur Team Championship (WATC) as she carded a three-under-par, 69, in the final round.
Maguire, the No. 1 ranked amateur golfer in the world from of Cavan, Ireland, registered three birdies and no bogeys in the final round to finish tied sixth overall with a six-under-par, 282. Her birdies came on holes No. 3, No. 5 and No. 13. Over the four days, Maguire collected rounds of 72, 70, 71 and 69.
