CAVAN, Ireland – Duke University junior Lisa Maguire helped lead her Ulster squad to a comeback victory Thursday to win the 2016 Ladies Interprovincial Championship for the second straight year at the Slieve Russell Golf Club in Cavan, Ireland.
Ulster took three foursome matches from Leinster in the morning, but in the afternoon Leinster totaled three singles wins before Maguire had to come-from-behind against Rachel Taylor to win, 1up. It all came down to Mary Doyle and Niamh Ward’s match, which resulted in a halve to give Ulster the overall win.
Maguire, who hails from Cavan, Ireland, finished the three days of play with a 2-1 singles record and a 1-1-1 mark in foursomes.
