EASTON, Pa. - The Duke men’s and women’s fencing squads traveled to Easton, Pa., to compete at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional on Saturday, with nine of Duke’s 20 competing fencers notching top-10 finishes. Leading the way was senior captain Julia Lee claiming first in the women’s foil competition.
In the final round of pool play, Lee logged an 8-3 record and faced off against University of Pennsylvania’s Danielle Ferdon in the final direct elimination to determine first and second place. The Montville, N.J., native was dominate and victorious in the final bout (5-1), giving her an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.
