TOKYO – Duke women's basketball head coach Kara Lawson and the U.S. Olympic 3x3 Women's Team is into the semifinals with a 6-1 ledger in preliminary round action.
Even though the United States dropped a 20-18 decision to Japan on Tuesday in Tokyo, the squad had already secured the No. 1 seed into the medal round and awaits France in the semifinals at 4 a.m. EDT on July 28.
The United States led 5-0 to start its game against host Japan (5-2) and was up 14-9 with 3:27 to play but could not hit shots down the stretch and suffered its first loss at Aomi Urban Sports Park.
