On Tuesday, the FBI announced more news in the FBI/Adidas case with a superseding indictment which mentions Kansas, Miami and NC State.
There are no current charges against anyone affiliated with any of these schools. The new charges are filed against former Adidas executive Jim Gatto. Former Clemson player Merl Code and agent runner Christian Dawkins are accused of conspiracy.
For State, the scandal revolves around Dennis Smith, now with the Dallas Mavericks, and an unnamed coach.
For Kansas, it’s two players: Billy Preston, who never suited up for KU after he was held out in the initial university investigation, which leads us back to the joke that nothin’ from nothin’ leaves nothin’, and Silvio DeSousa, who played a prominent role in getting Kansas to the Final Four.
