Latest Duke Chronicle Profile: Patrick Tapé

Patrick Tapé is one of the more interesting players on Duke’s roster. A Charlotte native and grad transfer from Columbia, Tapé had a great Ivy League career.

Unlike freshman Mark Williams, Tapé is solidly built. At 6-10 and 233, he should be a physical presence inside for Duke.

Ivy League play has changed tremendously in recent years. At one point, Princeton was really the only effective team and they were effective because Pete Carroll figured out the only way he could defeat athletically superior teams was to run a patient and precise offense.

Since Tommy Amaker got to Harvard though, the Ivy League has had something of a revolution and gotten much more athletic.
