CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Seventh-ranked Penn scored the final four goals of the game to beat No. 10 Duke, 14-11, in a top-10 men's lacrosse matchup at Matthews Sportsplex Saturday afternoon. The Blue Devils were held scoreless for the final 12:30 in the setback.
Duke (2-2) struggled on offense and clearing the ball at times in the afternoon, firing off just 28 shots and committing 25 turnovers in the contest. Penn, bolstered by Kyle Gallagher's 17-of-29 day at the faceoff X, took 52 shots on goal, including 16 in the final quarter.
The Quakers used the Gallagher's success on the draw to open a 3-0 lead in the first five minutes.
