Lageyre’s Brace Leads No. 15 Duke Past Eagles, 2-0

NEWTON, Mass. – Led by sophomore Carina Lageyre's brace and Duke women's soccer's third straight shutout on the defensive end, the Blue Devils opened ACC action Sunday at Boston College with a 2-0 victory at the Newton Soccer Complex in Newton, Mass.

Lageyre, who hails from Cooper City, Fla., posted her first two collegiate goals in the first half and helped lead the Blue Devils to their third straight victory. Duke improved to 6-2-0, 1-0-0 in ACC action, while the Eagles dropped to 3-4-2, 0-1-0.

How It Happened
• The Blue Devils started on the attack from the start and were rewarded early as sophomore Carina Lageyre connected on her first collegiate goal at the 2:51 mark off a feed from senior Grace Watkins and Baleigh Bruster.
