DURHAM, N.C. – Duke sophomore Jack Labosky was named one of 42 semifinalists for the Gregg Olson Award, presented by Toolshed Sports. The annual award honors college baseball’s breakout player of the year and is given to a top amateur baseball players who elevates his game to an elite level throughout the season.
After recording one extra base hit as a freshman in 2015, Labosky has emerged as one of Duke’s top hitters in 2016. He currently leads the team in seven offensive categories: on base percentage (.426), runs (37), RBI (45), home runs (8), total bases (97), walks (31) and times hit by pitch (13).
