DURHAM, N.C. – The New York Yankees drafted Duke signee Chad Knight with the 31st round with the 945th overall pick in the 2019 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft Wednesday.
Hailing from Westport, Conn., Knight is a four-year letterwinner at Staples High School, and has served as the co-captain of his varsity squad for the past two seasons. The future Blue Devil batted .554 with 10 home runs, 23 RBI and a slugging percentage of 1.179 on his way to leading the Wreckers to the FCIAC championship to cap off his senior season.
