ORLANDO, Fla. – Duke University head women’s lacrosse coach Kerstin Kimel was presented with the Diane Geppi-Aikens Memorial Award Thursday evening at the 2015 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Honors Banquet. The award is the IWLCA’s highest honor and recognizes lifetime achievement in the women’s college game.
The Diane Geppi-Aikens Memorial Award is named in honor of the legendary Loyola coach whose courageous battle with cancer inspired the nation. Kimel was presented with the award by Army West Point head coach Kristen Waagbo, a 2007 Duke graduate who served as an assistant under Kimel at her alma mater before establishing the Army program.
