DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's lacrosse team kicked off the season with a dominant 22-7 win over Gardner-Webb on Friday evening in Koskinen Stadium. Duke head coach Kerstin Kimel registered her 300th career victory, becoming just the seventh active Division I coach to reach the milestone.
Duke, led by freshman Caroline DeBellis with seven points by the way of three goals and four assists, netted 22 goals from 14 different scorers.
The Blue Devils started the game strong, opening on an 8-0 run in the first 16 minutes.
