Kim Shoots Low Round; Advances to Match Play

WEST POINT, Miss. – Powered by a six-under-par, 66, on Tuesday in the second round of stroke play qualifying at the U.S. Women’s Amateur, Duke University sophomore Gina Kim advanced to match play at the 6,502-yard, Par 72 Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.

Kim’s six-under, 66, was tied for the low round of the day and moved her into the top 20 with a one-under, 143. She collected seven birdies on the day to only one bogey. Kim, who hails from Chapel Hill, N.C., turned in five birdies over a span of eight holes from holes two through 10.
