RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Duke University senior Gina Kim claimed medalist accolades at Stage I of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament on Sunday as she carded a 15-under-par, 273, over the last four days to win by one stroke at the Dinah Shore Tournament Course in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
"The putts were not dropping in the beginning, but I knew this was a marathon not a sprint," said Kim. "So, I just took it one hole at a time and stayed patient. After I made a bogey on No. 8, that's when my putts started dropping, so I think staying calm and poised was really the key for me today.
