After his senior year, Jordan Goldwire took advantage of his bonus year and decided to try somewhere other than Duke, ultimately choosing Porter Moser who has moved from Loyola Chicago to Norman, Oklahoma and the Sooners of the Big 12. He replaces Lon Kruger, who opted to retire after his son Kevin got the UNLV job. He’ll be going back to Vegas, hence the opening.
For his part, Goldwire seems appreciative of what Duke did for him, not least of all that he had to season himself against a number of guys who would soon be in the NBA: “It was definitely tough because every athlete coming up wants to play and be on the floor.
