DURHAM, N.C. – Redshirt junior quarterback Daniel Jones was named the recipient of the Carmen Falcone Most Valuable Player Award at Duke University’s annual football banquet held Wednesday evening.
Jones, a 6-5, 220-pound native of Charlotte, N.C., has thrown for 2,251 yards and 17 touchdowns against seven interceptions with 325 rushing yards and two ground scores. The two-time ACC Quarterback of the Week set the Duke single-game record for total offensive yards with 547 against North Carolina. During the tilt against the Tar Heels, Jones also turned in the second 300-100 performance of his career, throwing for 361 yards and rushing for 186.
