BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Duke's Tyus Jones, the 2015 Final Four and South Regional Most Outstanding Player, was selected with the No. 24 overall pick in the first round of the 2015 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers Thursday. The Apple Valley, Minn., native was then traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves for two second round picks.
Jones is the 31st first round selection under head coach Mike Krzyzewski.
Jones, an All-ACC third team honoree, averaged 11.8 points, 5.6 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game during his freshman season. For his efforts, Jones received a number of awards, including being named to the All-ACC Freshman Team and the USBWA All-District III Team.
