DURHAM – Freshman Kyle Johnson made his first collegiate start on Sunday against Akron (3-7) working a career high four innings and struck out a career high six Zips. The Blue Devils (10-1) scored in four consecutive innings to pad the lead, including back-to-back home runs by Zac Morris and Ben Miller.
Miller extended his hitting streak to 10 games on Sunday, collecting a 2-for-3 line. Morris scored three runs for No. 12 Duke and walked two times, leading the team with two RBI on the day.
