HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Sophomore Garrett Johns and senior Sean Sculley represented Duke men's tennis at the $2K Stan Smith Fall UTR Championship in the men's prize money singles draw as Johns won the title and Sculley finished in third.
The tournament began with the round of 32 on Friday, Sept. 11, when Sculley defeated Kennesaw State's David Durham (6-2, 7-5) and Johns took down Luke Ahmet (7-5, 6-4).
Round of 16 action began Saturday morning with Sculley beating Charlotte native Harris Trismen (6-4, 7-5) before Johns came back to defeat Ryan Colby in a three-set match (2-6, 7-6, 6-0).
