DURHAM - Duke offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Kevin Johns has been named one of 51 nominees for the prestigious Broyles Award, an honor presented annually to the top assistant coach in the nation.
Currently in his first season at Duke, Johns mentors a Blue Devil offense that currently ranks fifth in the ACC in scoring offense, averaging 33.7 points per game after ranking last in the conference and 102nd nationally in the category a season ago. In addition, the Blue Devils rank fifth in the ACC in total offense, averaging 419.
