DURHAM, N.C. – Duke redshirt senior Jeremy Cash has been named the recipient of the 2015 Jim Tatum Award as the Atlantic Coast Conference’s top senior football scholar-athlete, the league announced Thursday.
Cash, a 6-2, 210-pound safety, becomes the fourth straight and league-high eighth overall Duke player to receive the Tatum Award. Duke’s current string of consecutive recipients includes quarterback Sean Renfree (2012), offensive tackle Perry Simmons (2013) and linebacker David Helton (2014).
Named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year on Wednesday, Cash becomes the first student-athlete in ACC history to secure both the Tatum Award and a major on-field honor in the same season.
