Jeff Capel II, father of Duke assistant Jeff Capel III, has died after suffering from ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
He has been fighting it since 2016 but it’s a terminal disease and no one we know of other than Stephen Hawking has ever lived close to his natural life span. We’re sure he fought the good fight, as much as anyone possibly could, because he has always been a fighter.
Capel’s life is rich beyond our ability to relate it and had a huge impact on many people. The best way to approximate it is this: you can measure his life by the impact he had on his many, many players and most importantly by the lives his sons have led.
