It was a narrow escape, but Jayson Tatum, Harry Giles and the rest of Team USA won gold at the FIBA U19 World Championship in Greece on Sunday with a 79-71 overtime win over Croatia.
The Croatians had a great chance to pull off the upset, but missed a potential go ahead free throw with four seconds remaining, which sent the game into overtime. In the extra period, the depth of the United States was overwhelming as Croatia appeared to be exhausted.
Despite being two of the best players throughout much of the tournament, class of 2016 Duke targets Jayson Tatum and Harry Giles struggled for much of the championship final.
