BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Former Duke men's basketball player Jalen Johnson was selected in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft Thursday night, becoming the 101st draft selection in program history and allowing head coach Mike Krzyzewski to extend his NBA Draft record to 42 first-rounders.
With Johnson picked by the Atlanta Hawks with the 20th overall pick, the Blue Devils now boasts 101 all-time draft picks, including 68 coming under Krzyzewski.
Johnson is the fourth Blue Devils drafted by the Hawks, joining Roshown McLeod (20th pick in 1998), Shelden Williams (fifth pick in 2006) and Cam Reddish (10th pick in 2019).
