DURHAM — Duke women's basketball signee Jadyn Donovan was tabbed the 2022-23 Gatorade District of Columbia Girls Basketball Player of the Year, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The fourth player from Sidwell Friends to achieve the feat, Donovan led the Quakers to an outstanding season that saw the squad post a 28-3 overall record, including an unblemished 13-0 mark in conference play, en route to winning Sidwell Friends' second straight DCSAA Girls AA State Championship, in which she tallied a 20 point, 10 rebound double-double. A finalist for the Naismith Girls Basketball National Player of the Year award, Donovan is a McDonald's High School All-American Game selection and a member of the Nike Hoop Summit Team USA squad.
