DURHAM, N.C. – Rallying in extra innings, junior Caroline Jacobsen used a walk-off home run in game two to claim the series as No. 13 Duke swept the doubleheader against Virginia Saturday. The Blue Devils picked up a 5-1 victory in game one and outlasted the Cavaliers, 10-9, in nine frames at the Duke Softball Stadium.
Duke continues its winning ways, riding a 12-game win streak to improve to 18-1 and 7-1 in ACC action while Virginia falls to 6-12 and 2-10.
The Blue Devils were led by junior Kristina Foreman who went 4-for-7 on the day with two stolen bases, four runs and five RBIs, nearly hitting for the cycle in game two with a double, triple and home run.
