DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke fencing team will have one representative at this weekend’s North American Cup (NAC) in Kansas City, Mo., as sophomore Dean Ischiropoulos will compete in Junior Men’s Epee Friday, Nov. 13. Friday’s event will serve as Ischiropoulos’ first time returning to the strip since his appearance at the 2015 NCAA Fencing Championships this past March.
“It will be a good benchmark to see where I’m at,” Ischiropoulos said. “I’ll end up fencing a lot of these guys when we start competing in the winter. I’m looking to do well because that will mean I’m in a good spot, but if I don’t do well, I know what I need to work on heading into January so I can be ready to go for our first meet.
