ANTHEM, Ariz. – Duke University women's golf alumna Sarah LeBrun Ingram claimed the inaugural Ladies National Golf Association (NSGA) Senior Amateur Championship Wednesday as she carded rounds of 75, 75 and 76 to win by six strokes at the Anthem Golf & Country Club in Anthem, Ariz.
Ingram, a 1985 Blue Devil graduate, posted a 10-over-par, 226, to win by six strokes over Shelly Haywood (232). The current U.S. Curtis Cup captain, Ingram carded eight birdies in very challenging conditions over the last three days.
Fellow Blue Devils Evelyn Orley and Anna Morales also competed in the championship finishing in tied for seventh and 37th, respectively.
